Hi my name is Nichola. I graduated in Illustration and Printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee. Through this grounding in Illustration I discovered a love for creating silver jewellery through taking night classes in silversmithing.
I am constantly inspired by the natural world and seek to portray some of it's beauty and strength in my work. I have always been fascinated by the animals around me and this features heavily in what I do. I like to think that my pieces tell a story, be that through the subject, choice of materials or textures created.

At The Bench
I work primarily in Sterling Silver (hallmarked through the Edinburgh Assay Office), building up layers and depth through using a variety of textures, marks, stone settings and sometimes moving parts. All pieces are my original designs. Some pieces are wholly unique whilst others are made using a lost wax casting method.
I love to take on commissions, working from the clients brief or description of what they are looking for. I produce initial sketches and mock ups, making sure the client is one hundred percent happy before working on the final product.
All of my work is designed and created in Edinburgh, Scotland.
